Basic Property:
Pure silicon nitride is non-acidification ceramic, which has excellent performance in high-heat machinery. It has excellent heat-resistance and wearable capability. There are two types: alpha and beta types. The alpha type is mainly used as powder material for moldings and the beta type is used as fillers to improve wearable resistance/thermal conductivity of resins, etc. The structure of silicon nitride is similar to diamond, and it can be heated to 1450-1550℃ in the air and 1750℃ in inert gases or the environment of deoxidization. If the temperature is higher, the decomposition is more severe. We can supply ultra fine powder whose average particle size ranges from sub-micron to coarse grain powder.
Feature:
Moldings using silicon nitride powder are light, having excellent strength at high temperature, toughness against breakage, and quite sensational characteristics such as wearability, resistance to corrosion and oxidation and thermal shock, etc. This is a material applied in components for automotive engines, electronics and industrial machinery, as well as in various types of composite materials, etc. It can be synthesized from the silicon powder heated to 1200-1450℃ in the atmosphere of ammonia, nitrogen and nitrogen-hydrogen or from the mixture of silicon dioxide and excessive carbon powder in the atmosphere of nitrogen at 1400℃.
